Green computing: The importance of sustaining the peopleware
Green Computing has attracted concerns in the past few decades, with the sole concern for the procedures
involve in the designing, manufacturing, usage and disposal of information and communication technology
(ICT) basically for environmental sustainability. The importance of human factor in green computing has
not received the deserved attention. The social, moral and ethical decadence resulting from the use of ICT
has reduced the quality of human in modern time. This study advocates the importance of peopleware as
essential aspect of green computing which equalling demands concern. Thus the adoption of peopleware in
green computing practices will invariably improve sustainability of the physical and spiritual environment
Modeling the relationship between human intelligence, knowledge management practices, and innovation performance
Pioneers in knowledge management (KM) have well articulated the relationship between KM and innovation. In addi- tion, there are many theoretical papers as well as empirical studies that examined the positive relationship between KM and innova- tion. However, these empirical studies analysed the relationship between KM and innovation at management or organisational level. There is a need to study this relationship at the knowledge workers level to see how they actually inยฐuence their organisational KM and innovation. This study aims to analyse the knowledge worker's intelligence, emotional, and spiritual potential towards KM and innovation as well as examine the relationship between knowledge workers, KM and innovation. Survey questionnaires are used to measure knowledge workers' intelligence quotient (IQ), emotional quotient (EQ), and spiritual quotient (SQ), their KM processes involvement, and perception on their innovation perfor- mance. Partial least square (PLS) analysis is used in the analyses to determine the relationship between human intelligence, KM pro- cesses and innovation performance. Results indicate that human EQ and SQ inยฐuenced KM and innovation but not IQ
STA Data Model for Effective Business Process Modelling
AbstractBusiness process management (BPM) is becoming popular in business, and the business process modelling is a way of representing an organisation to enable its analysis and improvement. A business-friendly modelling is very helpful for business people, and also can act as a communication tool between them and technical IT people. This paper focuses on a new data model, called Source-Transaction-Agent (STA) data model, as a modelling technique for business process modelling. STA data model uses business metadata to assist business and IT person to communicate and participate effectively and efficiently in business data modelling of a system development process. The STA data model uses relational database concept and semantic data modelling, developed by combining Resource-Event-Agent (REA) data model and form-based approach. Entity Relationship Diagram (ERD) is used as the benchmark for the STA effectiveness evaluation. The results show that the STA data model is an effective data model technique for business process modelling
Overcoming Knowledge Management Success Issues by Utilizing IS Theories
The study aims to examine factors that are influencing knowledge management success in one of the leading company in oil and gas industry in Saudi Arabia. It equally evaluates and validates a new proposed framework Information System Technology Acceptance Model (ISTAM) by combining two previously validated information system questionnaires. Data were collected from 401 employees of an oil and gas company in Saudi Arabia by adopting simple random sampling technique. Confirmatory factor analysis was used to measure and validate the hypothesized model while Structural Equation Modeling (SEM) and AMOS were used to test the highlighted hypothesis. The major findings which can be deduced from the overall results of the study is that, IS theoriesโ underlineโs construct and components fitted well in overcoming knowledge management success challenges. This result practically states that, IS theories as embedded in the KM model can suitably bring about knowledge management success in corporate organization
Knowledge exploration: selected works on Quran ontology development
This paper presents key features and challenges ahead for the development and knowledge retrieval of Quran ontology. Recent studies have made significant advances towards the development of Quran ontology. In the recent past, there have been numerous studies conducted on the application of semantic technologies on Quran. Contribution of this paper is its focus on finding the direction of knowledge exploration in Quran. Several studies on Quran ontology development help us in analyzing its linguistic features. Another dimension where Quran excels is the Knowledge of it. There are few studies that concentrate on retrieval of knowledge from Quran. In this literature review, we have included studies that can help us in developing semantic application for knowledge exploration from Quran. This paper devises challenges mainly focusing towards exploration of knowledge in the Quran and summaries research in this area, discuss key features and open research issues
Factors influencing the adoption of m-commerce: a literature review
Mobile Commerce also known as M-commerce is thought to be the next big phase in
technologically dependent society after following E-commerce era. Mobile commerce has been a
huge success in terms of individualsโ adoption in some markets like Japan, while, surprisingly, not
as flourishing in others. Many studies have been conducted using traditional adoption models and
theories (such as TAM) that mainly focus on technology aspects. A more complete understanding of
the issue requires the need to integrate. This study aims to identify some factors from the current
literature that impact the adoption of M-commerce. Based on the literature this study develops Mcommerce
adoption framework. The contribution of this research is a framework for representing
the factors that influence mobile commerce adoption
Factors influencing the adoption of m-commerce: an exploratory analysis
Mobile Commerce, also known as, M-commerce is thought to be the next big phase in this technologically dependent
society after E-commerce era. However, its adoption and level of use is low in Malaysia compared to others nations
such as Korea, Singapore, and Japan. This study aims to identify some factors that affect the adoption of Mcommerce
in Malaysia based on traditional technology models such as Theory of Reason Action (TRA), Theory of
Planned Behavior (TPB),Technology Acceptance Model (TAM) and Diffusion Innovation theory (DOI). In this
research, an exploratory factor analysis was conducted on different measures to identify the underlying factors
influencing the adoption of M-commerce. The findings revealed that all the thirteen (13) factors were statistically
significant and can affect the adoption of m-commerce
